Brown brother

Joshua Iosefo, a perfect at Mt Roskill Grammar,He had to deliver a speech to the school. Instead of a speech he wrote a poem titled “Brown Brother” Rashad post in an youtube where it care to the attention to Campbell live, who presented on national television.

This poem was about people that believe in stereotypes. Joshua tells the school to don’t be afraid to change don’t listen to stereotypes like limiting yourself. Not a change in skin tone or colour, but a change of one brown brother to another.

I felt really surprised because his poem is really good and nice. He talks about interesting stuff like skin tone stereotypes and more. We really appreciate his poem because it’s cool and fantastic.

Art Alive

Kiwi kick

As we walked over to the courts I could see the flags flapping heavily the leaves falling off the trees. My body was shivering and my teeth were chattering my hands were numb and I rubbed it fast so it could be warm. We met Sam and Anita which were the coaches they were teaching us how to play Kiwi Kick. We were at the courts they teach us some skills of Kiwi kick like drop punt high pass and chest pass that was some of the skills that they taught us. It was cool that we were going to Kiwi kick for another year. My favorite skill in Kiwi kick is the high pass because you get to jump and catch the ball.

The 2nd Week we learn how to drop punt in groups of 2 and it was hard . I always kick the ball on the wrong directions and my partner always runs for it .  We played a game that we have to roll the ball under the leg and I alway roll down the ball under my  friend's legs


The 3rd Week and that was my best week because we are learning my favorite skill and its called  high pass. We learned high pass and you have to have a partner. Your  partner has to hold the ball up and you have to run fast as you can and you have to jump high and catch it and it was hard. After we played a game that you have to go in teams and you have to throw the ball to the other team. Our team won and we struggle how to do it but it was still nice.

Tana Matisse and Picasso

Picasso & Matisse
Picasso and Matisse were two famous painters. They were  friends when they met at a Paris artist school. Matisse was born on December 31st , 1869 at Northern France. Picasso was born on October 25th , 1881 at Malaga Spain. In 1973 Picasso died on the month of April. Matisse died in the age of 84 becoming recognized as a modern artist. One of Matisse’s famous paintings is called ‘Woman with a Hat. Picasso had a famous painting  named The Weeping Woman. I am going to compare and contrast these two paintings.



Although both Picasso's Weeping Woman and Matisse’s Woman with a Hat are portraits of Women they have different themes. The theme of Picasso's  Weeping woman is war. It is showing suffering, anguish and sadness.  Matisse’s mood of drawing is neutral, not sad and not happy. He was  experimenting with colours and a style of painting called fauvism.


Picasso and Matisse used bright  but different colours. Picasso main colours are red, orange and yellow. But he also used green. They are strong colours.  Picasso and Matisse both used unrealistic colours. Matisse used different colours to show shading.


Matisse and Picasso have got different kinds of outline and style. Picasso’s painting has got strong bold outlines and they are dark. Picasso has got two view points but Matisse has got one.  Matisse showed his shapes through different colours.

Both Picasso and Matisse were good famous artists .Their paintings are known all around the world.

Ben Carson

mother dropped out of school 3th grade

Ben Carson was born in Detroit, Michigan. Sonya, his mother, dropped out of school in the 3rd and was married when she was only13. Unfortunately when Ben was only 8, his parents got divorced . This made life very difficult because Sonya was left to raise the boys by herself. she worked 2-3 jobs at a time to provide for them.

Ben Carson was dumpiest in is class but her mother Sonya turn there life around and made them read two library books a week. Her mother made them do there home work first then watch T.V or play outside and give her report on their reading even though, with her own poor education, she could  barely read what they had written. Within a thew weeks, Carson astonished his classmates by rocks that his teacher brought but in his class know one know what’s the rock name but Carson recognized
that rock from a book that read.  That time he didn’t recognized that he’s stupid he recalled later
Carson continued  to amazed his classmates with his new found knowledge and within years Carson became the top of the class.


One year Carson can read voraciously on all subject. He is determined to become a physician so he had learn how to learn how to control his violent temper. After he graduating high school, he attend Yale university where he earned a degree in psychology. From Yale, he went to medical school of university of Michigan, where he shift psychiatry neurosurgery. His excellent hand eye coordination made him a superior surgeon. After medical he went neurosurgeon at world famous hospital name John Hopkins hospital Baltimore. At age 32 he became hospital directer and he was smart person that he became Pediatric Neurosurgery. In 1987 Carson made medical History. He Siamese twins separate he’s a smart person. The Siamese twins was born joined in the back of there head. When Carson was separating the twins he was scared and all of them had goose pump but at the last pit Carson saved the twins and he became famous.

Tana Matisse

Henri Matisse i s an artist. He was a born on dec the 31th in 1835 at Northern France. His parents worked genral store. He study law part. In 1889 Matisse  returned law office.Unfortunately he graduated Appendicitis surgery.One day Her mom gave him a paint box To make his life enjoy full. When he was a 21 years old he decided to become an artist. In 1891 he went to a Paris art school. One day the teacher said to Matisse never learn to fly but he Determined to succeed. He paint exhibited painting. One year Matisse learned a painting technique is paper cut out. In this other day  he got ill of charcoal bamboo and got died in 1954 leader mordern art.
